The Tallahassee Lassie

Seana Steele was born in Tallahassee, Florida, where she spent most of her life. As an awkward youth, she always had her nose in a book, studying Latin grammar and reading Harry Potter. She didn't really fit in anywhere, but was able to get along with those of most any group.

She has always been a leader. She does what is right for her and is not affected by peer pressure. She has been vegetarian since the age of 14. When a classmate brought a meat substitute sandwich to class in high school, she started thinking about the fact that an animal had to die for humans to consume their flesh. She decided to give up meat that day and has not looked back since.  At the age of 18, she became vegan in an effort to remove herself from the wheel of cruelty altogether.  She has also never consumed an alcoholic beverage for health and purity reasons.

She stands up for her ethical values and will not model anything containing animal ingredients (including cosmetics). The fashion industry is ridden with animal products (such as leather and silk), but it is one of Seana's goals to show that the vegan and eco-friendly realms of fashion can be just as fabulous. It is important to her that she can stand behind a product, service, or organization she is presenting to the public. With the increasing popularity of organic cotton, hemp, recycled materials, and mineral cosmetics, avenues of opportunity are continuously opening up.

At the age of 16, she discovered the world of dance and has been enchanted by this art form ever since. She studied various styles, including modern, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and of course a little ballet. Dance became her creative outlet that allowed her to blossom into a graceful young woman. She has now taken her dance background and used it to her advantage to do '60s style go-go dancing. She enjoys this style of dance, which she finds sensual yet classy. It is freeing and just plain fun. She also has dreams to be back on stage again performing modern and jazz pieces in a fine arts theatre.

Dance training has also served her well in the realm of modeling. Posing and strutting down the runway are second-nature after many years of stretching and maintaining proper posture.

Seana attended college at Florida State University, focusing on Creative Writing (and more specifically, Poetry), with a minor in Spanish. She has since shifted her focus to creative endeavors and wishes to spend her days creating art in the forms of dance, modeling, and acting. To be able to do all three at once would be even more ideal.

She moved to Asheville, North Carolina at the end of 2006 and there spent four and a half years. This was a great place to blossom and find the right path for her career. She was a core member of a burlesque troupe called Bombs Away Cabaret (the group continues to perform regular shows today). She also collaborated with local photographer Bjorn Luminaire (Bearz Images), with whom she started to develop a professional modeling portfolio. Near the end of her time in Asheville, she realized that she needed a bigger city in order to reach her full potential. After being in small cities all her life, she felt the mega cities like New York City or Los Angeles were too large of a jump, so she decided on Portland, Oregon.  Portland, with a plethora of nicknames (Bridgetown, Stumptown, Rose City, etc.) offered opportunities to help her further her career. 

Recently Seana found herself wanting to take her career further and decided a move closer to New York City was in order.  She now resides in Hudson, New York and is ready to make connections in the realms of fashion, dance, and acting.  The journey continues and the only place to go is up!
